Utes blow another upset opportunity

Posted

SALT LAKE CITY – Once again, the Utah men’s basketball team was so close. Once again, they came up short.

Utah overcame a nine-point halftime deficit to force overtime before losing to No. 4 Arizona 67-63 on Wednesday night.

The Utes outscored the Wildcats 12-4 at the end of regulation to tie the game at 56. With 2:06 left in overtime, trailing by two, Utah guard Brandon Taylor went to the line with three free throws. He missed all three.

As a team, Utah was just 59 percent from the free throw line as they failed to upset Arizona for the second time this season. The Utes host Arizona State on Sunday.
