SALT LAKE CITY -- Thousands of people are without power in the Salt Lake area Thursday as Rocky Mountain Power crews repair damages, and a FOX 13 News viewer submitted video of a transformer erupting in sparks.
According to Rocky Mountain Power's website, about 2,823 customers in zip code 84119 are without power, and service is expected to be restored by about 10 p.m.
A crew has been dispatched to the scene, and the website lists the cause of the outage as "emergency damage repair."
