KAYSVILLE — An elderly couple was found dead in a Kaysville home early Sunday morning when officers arrived to do a welfare check.
A news release from the Kaysville Police Department later identified the married couple as 72-year-old Jeffery Wayman and 68-year-old Judith Wayman.
At 2:13 a.m. officers responded to 220 S. Christine Way after a newspaper carrier in the area reported newspapers had not been collected at the home and the lights were on.
Upon arrival, officers were unable to get anyone to answer the door and eventually made a forced entry, according to a press release from the Kaysville Police Department. The man and woman were found dead inside the house.
The second press release from police stated that there was no sign of trauma or injuries to the victims that were of a suspicious nature. Health issues may have been a contributing factor in the deaths, according to the release.
Police officials stated that the results of a toxicology test may provide additional insight but said obtaining the results will take time.
Police are investigating, and they ask anyone with information to contact them.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
