Woman pinned in rollover accident near Parowan

Posted

PAROWAN — Emergency crews had to extricate a woman from a vehicle after a rollover Friday afternoon near Parowan, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

At approximately 4:40 p.m. the driver of the Ford Expedition was traveling south on Interstate Highway 15 with a woman and three children, ages 4, 10 and 13.

At mile marker 80 the left rear tire blew causing the 36-year-old man to lose control of the vehicle, officials said. The car went off the road to the right, causing it to roll.

The vehicle came to rest on its right side on a frontage road. The woman was pinned and had to be freed. She sustained moderate injuries, UHP officials said.

All occupants of the vehicle were transported to Valley View Medical Center in Cedar City by ambulance.

They were all wearing seat belts.
