LAS VEGAS -- Gonzaga came out playing well against BYU in the championship game of the West Coast Conference tournament, and they held off a late rally to beat BYU 75-64 in Las Vegas.

The Bulldogs made nine of their first 12 shots, and they jump out to a 25-9 lead to start the game. Gonzaga extended their lead to 21 points.

The Cougars played much better in the second half, cutting the lead to eight with three minutes to play.

Tyler Haws led BYU with 24 points and Kyle Collinsworth scored 13 before leaving the game in the second half with a knee injury.

While Gonzaga earned the conference’s automatic bid, BYU will have to wait until Selection Sunday to see if they receive and at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament.
