UTAH COUNTY -- A high-speed chase after a hit and run in Utah County led to the arrest of a 62-year-old man Monday.
Officers said James Cottrell was driving an SUV when he clipped another car on southbound I-15 in Draper.
Police said Cottrell kept on driving, and then hit another car in Lindon and left the scene. A trooper tried to pull him over in Orem, but he took off going 80 miles per hour.
Other officers joined the chase on the freeway, and several troopers spiked the cars tires, but Cottrell kept going.
Police said the tires of the SUV were on fire when troopers finally performed a pit maneuver in Payson and ended the chase.
Officers said Cottrell may be suffering from a medical condition, and they don't know if they will press charges.
