Utahn serving LDS mission in Micronesia dies

WENO, Micronesia -- A missionary with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints died in Micronesia Thursday.

According to LDS Church officials, Elder Miller Edward Toa, 20, from Layton died from injuries he sustained in a fall.

"Elder Toa, who began his missionary service in April 2013, had been serving on the island of Weno," LDS church spokesperson Cody Craynor said in a statement. "We are saddened at Elder Toa's passing and extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time."
