On Monday, researchers announced they have found the first direct evidence for “cosmic inflation,” proving how the universe rapidly expanded less than a trillionth of a second after the Big Bang.
One of the researchers surprised a Stanford University physics professor, Andrei Linde, who was a pioneer of inflation theory in the 1980’s.
