SALT LAKE CITY – Animal advocates are working to assist a dog who became paralyzed, and a fundraising effort is underway to help the animal get a wheelchair.

Turbo the dog had a bulge on his spine that caused his back legs to become paralyzed, and animal services officials said they believe he was hit by a car.

Salt Lake County Animal Services hopes to help the 2-year-old dog become mobile again, but to do so they need about $167 for a wheelchair.

“Once he gets his wheels, he is going to be zooming all over the place,” said Sandy Nelson of Salt Lake County Animal Services. “We cannot wait to see what he does with wheels."
