HOLLADAY, Utah – Police are investigating after a man found a body submerged in a creek in a wooded area Wednesday, and on Thursday officials identified the deceased woman.

The woman was identified as 40-year-old Andrea Horsley of Holladay.

Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department told FOX 13 News Wednesday that detectives on the scene tell him it does not appear to be a suspicious death, and as of Thursday officials said they were still awaiting a medical examiner’s report regarding the cause of death.

The body was found in a wooded area near 4141 S. Highland Drive, and reports of the incident began to come in around 3:10 p.m.

Police officials on scene said the body was submerged under water in a creek. Police said there is no evidence of foul play and they said there is no obvious cause of death thus far in the investigation.

A man who was removing medical waste from the area noticed the body in the creek and called police.

FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
