IRON COUNTY, Utah — A Nevada woman died Tuesday afternoon in a crash on I-15 in Iron County.

According to a statement from the Utah Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred shortly after 5 p.m. near mile post 51.

The victim was driving south on I-15 in an SUV when she allowed the vehicle to drift toward the median, the DPS statement said.

She then corrected back to the right, causing the vehicle to slide. The woman over-corrected to the left, causing the vehicle to slide sideways into the median and roll.

The vehicle rolled about twice, the statement said, and came to rest on its side. Although the driver was wearing a seat belt, she suffered head trauma in the crash.

The victim was identified as 49-year-old Tamara Gross of Mesquite, Nev.
