SALT LAKE CITY – The who man police say abused 1-year-old Xander Toliver so badly the toddler eventually died, is scheduled to be in court for a preliminary hearing today.
Brian Luther Taylor, 24, was charged with first-degree felony murder back in January.
According to court documents, the child’s mother left the baby in Taylor’s care for a few minutes to get a glass of water.
They say when she came back, Xander was gasping for breath and Taylor was standing next to his crib.
Police say the baby suffered major head trauma.
