HEBER CITY, Utah — Police officials said they arrested a man in connection with a child pornography investigation that unfolded over the course of about a year.
George F. Darnstaedt, 56, is accused of sharing child pornography online; officials said they found child pornography on the man’s computer after executing a search warrant at his residence.
According to court documents, investigators obtained the warrant to search the residence after the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force located an IP address tied to the man’s residence that was allegedly sharing images of child pornography. A warrant to examine computers seized during the search was obtained, and the computers were taken to an FBI forensics labs, where evidence of the alleged crimes was recovered.
The suspect was booked into the Wasatch County Jail. He faces 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, which is a second-degree felony.
