PAROWAN, Utah — A man accused of shooting and killing his 57-year-old stepdaughter had been served with divorce papers the same day, FOX 13 has learned.
The shooting happened Thursday afternoon at a home near 300 S. and 800 W. Police said they believe 83-year-old Nathan Zimmerman was at the house when his 57-year-old stepdaughter arrived.
Deputies said Zimmerman allegedly shot the woman one time, killing her.
The name of the victim has not been released. Zimmerman was booked into the Iron County Jail on one count of first-degree felony murder.
Court records revealed that on Thursday, Zimmerman’s wife had filed for divorce from him. The court records do not indicate if a protective order had been filed against him.
