SALT LAKE CITY – Police have a suspect in custody after he allegedly robbed a store at knifepoint.
Salt Lake City Police said they arrested the suspect at the Big Lots near 400 E. and 200 S. Thursday morning.
It was initially reported the suspect held a knife to the cashier’s throat.
Police said the suspect actually went into the store, took a knife from a shelf and demanded money from the clerk.
Officers said the suspect put down the knife at one point and the store manager grabbed it.
The suspect then surrendered to the manager.
Police arrested the man and he is now facing aggravated robbery charges.
Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity at this time.
No one was injured.
