Video, photos show tensions brewing between protesters, police in wake of shooting

FERGUSON, Mo — According to FOX 13 News sister station FOX 2 in St. Louis, there are unconfirmed reports of looters and protesters damaging police vehicles in Ferguson, Missouri as protesters rally in response to an officer involved shooting that left a teen dead.

According to FOX 2, “there are unconfirmed reports indicating that shortly before 8:30 pm [7:30 p.m. MST] Sunday night, vehicles at the intersections sustained damage allegedly from protesters near West Florissant and Ferguson Avenue.”

The protests are in response to the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. Some accounts claim Brown was unarmed and had his hands in the air when he was shot while others claim the teen was in a physical confrontation with an officer and tried to take the officer’s weapon. Posts on social media from individuals in the area of the protests showed a tense scene as police in riot gear faced a large crowd.
