ORLANDO– One Florida couple is thinking outside the box when it comes to cutting costs for their wedding. Courtney McKenzie and Jamil Newell are planning to have a corporate-sponsored wedding.
That means guests would see company logos, brand names, and hash-tags all over the wedding, including on the bride’s dress, the groom’s tux, and more.
On their website, sponsorourwedding.com, the pair wrote “Instead of wedding gifts, we decided to raise money for an exotic wedding and our favorite charities.”
They are getting married this December in Thailand before embarking on their 11-day honeymoon.
The bride-to-be tells Fox 13 News that the donations to charity will depend on the amount raised, it’s not a set percentage. The charities they’ve chosen to work with are Positive Habitat Aspiring Teens and also Big Brother Big Sister.
