MILLCREEK, Utah – The search is on for a stabbing suspect after a crash in Millcreek overnight.
Officers said a man and woman were fighting in front of an apartment near 2nd E. and 40th S. at about 9:30 p.m.
Witnesses told police another man saw the couple fighting and allegedly intervened defending the woman.
Authorities said that sparked a dispute between the two men.
Officers said the man originally involved in the altercation with the woman stabbed the other man who tried to step in.
Police said the man was stabbed in his upper body.
“When officers arrived they found that everybody involved in the situation was gone but they did find blood here at the scene and found where the stabbing had taken place,” Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said.
Authorities found the stabbing victim when the person driving him to the hospital crashed the car near the entrance to the hospital.
The victim check into the hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to serious condition.
Officers said the suspect is described as a Hispanic man who was dressed in all black clothing.
