SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah – Police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed a store while wielding scissors after several credit cards he presented were declined at the point of purchase.

Lt. Gregg Carlson of the South Salt Lake Police Department said the incident occurred at a Cricket Wireless store located at 279 E. 3300 South around 4 p.m. Saturday.

The man tried to use several different credit cards to purchase a phone, but each of the cards were declined and the store employees were not able to access information regarding the man’s credit. The man fled with eight phones and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s who has a thin build and is clean-shaven. The man was last seen wearing a white shirt and jeans and carrying a black backpack.
