SALT LAKE CITY — An 18-year-old man has died due to injuries suffered after getting shot in the head early Sunday morning, according to Salt Lake City police.
At approximately 4:30 a.m., dispatchers received a call of shots fired in the area of 900 East and 600 South. The shooter and several witnesses were detained when officers arrived.
Police say the incident started at a party, just east of the shooting. When the confrontation spilled onto the street the victim was shot in the head.
The teen was transported to an area hospital. Just before 9:30 p.m. Sunday, police confirmed the teen had died.
At this time, police say, all those involved in the shooting are in custody.
