UTAH COUNTY – A man who suffered a medical emergency while wakeboarding at Utah Lake Saturday was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and officials said Sunday the man had died.
Deputy Nathan Harris, Utah County Sheriff’s Office, said the 40-year-old man was wakeboarding when he had what appeared to be a seizure. The incident occurred around 4 p.m.
Those in the boat circled back to the man, put him on board and started CPR as they traveled to Pelican Bay Marina. Once at the marina, the man was loaded into a medical helicopter and airlifted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Police identified the man Sunday as 40-year-old Stanley James Davis II of Bountiful. Officials had initially reported the man’s age to be 39, but they offered corrected information later in the day.
Janet Frank, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, confirmed to FOX 13 News that Davis died Sunday.
