MILLCREEK, Utah – A man was taken into custody Thursday after he allegedly robbed a credit union in Millcreek.

The suspect entered a Mountain America Credit Union, 2174 E. 3300 South, around 3:10 p.m. and presented a note to the teller demanding money; the note indicated the man had a weapon.

According to a press release from the Unified Police Department, the man fled after the teller complied, and there were no injuries. The suspect escaped with an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

Shortly after the robbery, an investigator with the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office observed a white Subaru Impreza leaving the area at a high rate of speed, and witnesses had reported seeing the suspect leave the bank in a vehicle with a similar description.

The vehicle was stopped by police, and the driver, 23-year-old Kenyon Fletcher of Murray, was identified as the suspect in the robbery. Fletcher was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail and faces aggravated robbery charges.
