SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah – A man died due to injuries suffered in collision between a car and a motorcycle that occurred early Saturday morning.

South Salt Lake Police Department officials said the motorcyclist was traveling west on 3900 South when a car traveling east attempted to turn left and collided with the motorcycle.

The driver of the car was turning into a gas station, and officials said it appears the driver did not see the motorcyclist until it was too late to avoid making contact.

Officials said there is no indication of obvious impairment on the part of either driver, and they said surveillance footage from cameras at the nearby Maverik gas station may help them in their investigation into the crash.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital, where he died due to injuries suffered in the crash. The man has not been identified.

There were no reports of injury to the driver of the car.

FOX 13 News will have more information as it becomes available.
