Surveillance images show suspects in burglaries, police seek public’s help

SANDY, Utah -- Police in Sandy are looking for three suspects who were caught on video breaking into cars as well as at least one garage.

The burglaries happened in a neighborhood near 9900 South and 2400 East in Sandy just after midnight Wednesday.

All three suspects entered the vehicles through unlocked doors, and in one case a suspect found and used a garage opener to gain entry to a home.

While the family slept, the thieves stole hunting equipment worth thousands of dollars.

Surveillance video shows the suspect makes no attempt to cover his face, and police are confident the footage will lead to their capture.

"For the identification of the individuals that were involved in the burglaries, I think the quality photos and quality video that we have from those surveillance cameras will probably help us solve this crime fairly quickly, they are very good, they are very clear, and likely those persons will be recognized by some of your viewers,” said Capt. Justin Chapman of the Sandy Police Department.

The family living in the house said they're offering a cash reward for anyone with information that would help catch the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
