Suspect abandons car, passenger in traffic stop; on run in SLC

SALT LAKE CITY – Investigators are searching for a man who ran from a trooper who pulled him over early Thursday morning.

Officials said the Utah Highway Patrol pulled over a white car near 4th S. and 10th W. for a traffic violation.

The trooper said once the car stopped, the driver ran, leaving a passenger behind.

Troopers arrested the passenger on outstanding warrants.

Salt Lake Police and K9 units searching for the suspect but weren’t able to find him.

Authorities said the missing suspect is a Hispanic man in his mid-20s who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and shorts.
