RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas – An elementary school physical education coach is out on bond after being accused of using a dodge ball to beat a student.
Rio Grande City police charged Patricio Homero Saenz with injury to a child Tuesday.
Saenz is a physical education coach at the Academy for Academic Excellence Elementary School.
He’s accused of targeting the boy on several occasions, hitting him with the dodge ball in the face and laughing at him.
The school district declined to comment, saying it was a personnel matter.
