Cross-dressing suspect carrying semi-automatic gun in purse wanted in Salt Lake bank robbery

SALT LAKE CITY – The Unified Police Department is releasing photos of a cross-dressing suspect accused of robbing a Chase Bank inside a grocery store back on Nov. 6.

Officials said the suspect, a man who allegedly dressed up as a woman, went into a Smith’s Grocery Store near 3300 S. and I-215 and approached a teller at the Chase Bank inside.

Police said the suspect flashed a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.

Authorities said the suspect got away with an unknown amount of cash.

No one in the bank or store was injured.

Suspect description from Unified Police: 

– Caucasian male in his mid-20s
– 5’8” with a thin build, about 135 pounds
– Was wearing a black wig, lipstick and other make-up
– Last seen in white “beanie” style hat, black and white gloves, women’s jeans, a dark colored coat and was carrying a purse
