Riverton, Utah – A Lehi woman is dead after a crash in Riverton on Saturday.
The crash happened near Bangerter Highway and Redwood Road just after 4 p.m. between Bluffdale and Riverton. Witnesses say one vehicle ran a red light and broadsided the other.
“As a result of the accident it appears the Grand Prix was traveling eastbound and struck the Hyundai Sonata right in the driver door, a t-bone type accident. Both of those vehicles came to rest just east of the intersection,” said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal.
Taylor Zimmerman, 20, of Lehi, had to be extracted from her vehicle. She was airlifted to the hospital in extremely critical condition but has since died from her injuries.
A 10-month-old child in the back seat of her car is okay.
