OGDEN, Utah – More than one month after a 16-year-old on a skateboard was killed in a hit and run crash, police have released an image of the vehicle they believe struck the teen.

Police said the incident occurred on 200 West 17th Street on November 1 around 10:30 p.m., and they said the driver of the vehicle allegedly stopped and a got out of the vehicle before fleeing the scene.

According to a press release from the Ogden City Police Department, the driver is described as being a Hispanic male who stands 5-feet 7-inches tall and is believed to be in his 20s.

Police provided an image of the truck form a security camera in the area, as well as a color photo of a truck that is not the suspect vehicle but is of a similar make and model. See the gallery above for both images.

Anyone with information about the crash or who has seen the vehicle is asked to call police at 801-629-8634.

The teen killed in the crash is 16-year-old Joe Martinez.

Joe’s grandmother, Kelly Wilkinson, told FOX 13 News in November: “He was the best kid in the whole world, this is so sad that this had to happen to him it’s not fair, he was just beginning his life he just turned 16.”
