BOX ELDER COUNTY, Utah – A woman faces 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after she allegedly took pictures of a partially naked child and then sold them.

According to a probable cause statement from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, police arrested 45-year-old Starla Rae McCabe on November 26 in Perry, Utah.

The document states investigators obtained a warrant on November 10 to search a Nintendo DSi, a handheld video game system that also includes a camera. Investigators stated they found 19 partially nude photos of a 5-year-old girl and that several of the photos showed the child’s face.

The photos show the child on the couch, naked from the waist down. In one of the photos, the victim’s “genitals are fully exposed”, according to the statement of probable cause.

The child told investigators McCabe took the photos and printed them off and sold them to people for $100.

Police interviewed McCabe regarding the photos, and she stated that she had taken the photos to show the child what her vagina looked like. Officials stated that when they attempted to question her further about the pictures, “Starla invoked her rights.”

McCabe was booked into jail on 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, with the bail for each charge set at $10,000.
