WACO, Texas – Officials said a meteorologist shot outside his TV station is expected to survive.
Authorities said Patrick Crawford, KCEN morning meteorologist, exchanged words with the suspect in the station parking lot before he was shot.
KHOU reported the suspect pulled out a semi-automatic handgun, shot Crawford multiple times and ran Wednesday morning.
Crawford’s friends said he went into surgery and is expected to recover.
Officials said Crawford was able to drive away and flag down a construction worker who called for help.
Police are still searching for the suspect who is described as a 30-35-year-old Caucasian man who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
