Armed 7-Eleven robbery may be connected to other robberies

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – A West Valley City 7-Eleven clerk was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday morning.

At around 1:30 a.m., a man entered the 7-Eleven at 2321 South Redwood Road, showed a handgun and demanded money and cigarettes.

This isn’t the first time something similar has happened. Police say there have been other 7-Eleven robberies of the same nature, including one at the same store.

“That 7-Eleven was robbed either last week or the week before, very similar to that one. The detectives are looking at this to see if it’s related to any others or if this is the same suspect in any other robberies, not just at this 7-Eleven but others throughout the valley,” said West Valley City Police Lt. Dalan Taylor.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, between five-foot-seven-inches and five-foot-nine inches tall, and weighing between 140 and 160 pounds.

He was wearing a black jacket with a gray hoodie underneath, blue jeans and white tennis shoes. He had a bandanna over his face.
