BRIGHAM CITY, Utah — Box Elder County Sheriff Joseph Lynn Yeates died Tuesday morning, a representative for the sheriff’s office said.
According to Chief Deputy Kevin Potter, Yeates suffered a heart attack.
According to his Facebook page, Yeates had served with the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office since 1975 and was elected to the office of Sheriff in 2005. He was reelected to the position in June 2014.
