S. Salt Lake police seek public’s help in finding missing, endangered man

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — South Salt Lake police are seeking the public’s help in locating a man considered missing and endangered.

Larry Caplinger, 68, went missing from the Valley Mental Health Center, 3610 S. 100 West, Sunday at about 4:30 p.m.

Caplinger is considered endangered because of mental health concerns and the weather conditions.

Police say Caplinger has a history of taking taxi cabs from the facility to travel around the Salt Lake valley.

Caplinger is described as a white man, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. Police say he has long brown hair, blue eyes and a long grey beard.
