Crews respond to 2-alarm fire at mechanic shop in Murray

MURRAY, Utah -- Fire crews have responded to a two-alarm fire at a mechanic shop in Murray Tuesday night.

The blaze is now under control.

Police confirmed one person suffered minor injuries.

The shop, located at 4550 S. Commerce Drive, is connected to other businesses included a church. The blaze could be seen from Interstate 15 near the 4500 South exit.

Officials suspect sparks from welding were the cause of the blaze.

Utah Department of Transportation tweeted that 300 West is closed at 4500 South due to the fire. Motorists are asked to use alternative routes.

Closures are still in place.
