Man injured in Cedar City car crash

CEDAR CITY, Utah — A single-vehicle crash in Cedar City left one man with a head injury Tuesday morning.

At approximately 11:14 a.m., Cedar City police responded to the accident in the area of 550 West and 600 South.

Witnesses told police the driver of the pickup truck went off the roadway and sideswiped a tree.

Police say the truck then went over some shrubs and into a support beam for carport before finally striking a wooden fence.

The man, who was the sole occupant, was not wearing a seat belt at the time, police say.

The victim was transported to Valley View Medical Center then flown to Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
