The five-star linebacker from Salem , Utah, Porter Gustin, is off to the University of Southern California.

He chose USC over Utah, Arizona State and Ohio State Tuesday.

Those close to the family said Gustin is not likely to go on a mission.

Gustin said he chose USC because he felt comfortable with coach Steve Sarkisian.

He also said the university assured him he would play a hybrid linebacker instead of defensive line.

The multi-sport athlete said it was hard to turn down Utah and Ohio State; Utah for the location and the Buckeyes for legendary coach Urban Meyer.

Gustin is ranked as the No. 4 outside linebacker of the 2015 recruiting class by 247sports.
