SUV hits convenience store clerk, crashes into store; driver charged with DUI

SALT LAKE CITY – A convenience store employee is recovering after an SUV jumped the curb, hit the man and pushed him through the store front.

Police said the clerk was taking a smoke break outside the 7-Eleven near 1300 N. Redwood Rd. just before 11 p.m.

Then a white SUV pulled into the parking spot in front of the man but it didn’t stop.

The vehicle hit the clerk and crashed through the front of the store.

The clerk is listed in serious condition at this time.

The suspect driving the SUV, 39-year-old Donuald Williams, is facing DUI charges.

No one else was injured.

The names of those involved have not been confirmed.
