Taylorsville school on lockdown as police search for suspects in area

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah – A Taylorsville elementary school is on lockdown while authorities are searching for burglary suspects in the area.

Unified Police said no one is allowed in or out of Vista Elementary School until officers resolve the situation near 4900 S. and 2200 W.

Granite School District officials said school is continuing as normal. 

Officials said all students and staff are safe and accounted for.

According to Unified Police, three teens broke into a home near 5000 S. and 2200 W.

When the owner confronted the suspects, they ran from the house.

Officials have one 17-year-old suspect in custody and are still looking for two other teens.

Police said one of the other juveniles is believed to be 13 years old, the age of the third is unknown.
