LAYTON, Utah — A natural gas leak forced evacuations at four Layton businesses Monday morning.
The gas leak occurred at a construction site near 924 W Antelope Dr, forcing evacuations at a Cafe Rio restaurant, a Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurant, The Sweet Tooth Fairy Gourmet Bake Shop and Peerless Beauty Supply.
According to a tweet from Layton’s public information officer, the gas leak occurred on a service gas line going to a new development for Popeye’s Chicken.
The gas leak was contained and people affected by the evacuations were allowed to return to the businesses as of 10:33 a.m.
