WEST VALLEY CITY – Police are searching for a gunman accused of shooting a West Valley City man who answered a knock at his door.
Officials said neighbors called 911 after hearing shots at a four-plex near 3500 W. and 2700 S.
Police found a 36-year-old man who had been shot in the shoulder.
The man told investigators he answered his door at about 1 a.m. and saw a man and woman standing there but didn’t recognize them.
The victim told police the man shot him and the pair ran off.
Police said the gunman is described as a Latino man in his early 20s wearing a blue buttoned jacket and a light blue baseball cap.
Officers said the woman with him was about the same age and has dark hair.
Authorities found two shell casings at the scene and are interviewing neighbors at this time.
West Valley City Police would like to speak with anyone who might have information.
