GRAND COUNTY, Utah – A man suffered fatal injuries in an all-terrain vehicle crash Saturday, and emergency responders said the man on the ATV had driven off of a cliff estimated to be about 65 feet tall.
Grand County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 31-year-old Jason Mondragon of Arvada, Colorado, and they said the man was riding in the White Wash Sand Dunes area when he went off the cliff. According to the BLM, the White Wash Sand Dunes area is about 48 miles northwest of Moab and 25 miles southeast of Green River.
The press release from Grand County states the fall was fatal. It was not clear what caused the ATV to go off of the cliff.
Police first received a report of the crash Saturday around 11 p.m., and emergency crews were able to retrieve the body of the man.
