WEST JORDAN, Utah – A Utah man accused of abusing two special needs children who rode his school bus was supposed to have his final pretrial hearing Tuesday but there will now be at least one more hearing before his trial begins.
Officials said John Carrelll’s attorney, Ron Yengich, said he wants to go over the main evidence against his client, the security video from a Canyons District school bus.
It allegedly shows Carrell fondling two kindergartners on the bus.
He is now facing more than 30 felony counts of child sex abuse, mainly as a result of that tape.
If convicted, he could spend 15 years to life in prison.
Carrell’s next pretrial hearing is Monday, April 13.
