UINTAH COUNTY, Utah — A 4-year-old girl died Monday afternoon when she was run over by a tractor in western Uintah County.
It happened around 4:20 in the driveway of a home near 4000 South 4500 East, about five miles southeast of Roosevelt. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, the girl was riding on the tractor with a relative when the driver shifted gears, causing the tractor lurch forward. The sudden movement caused the girl to lose her balance and she fell off the tractor.
The driver couldn’t stop the tractor in time and the girl was run over by a rear tire.
Family members and emergency responders performed CPR on the girl, who was later pronounced dead at Uintah Basin Medical Center.
The girl’s identity has not been released.
