WEST JORDAN, Utah — A domestic dispute in West Jordan Sunday escalated into a wild ride to West Valley City, and police took one man into custody after he fled the area on foot.
West Jordan police said things started when a man went to his ex-girlfriend’s residence in West Jordan and got into an argument over a vehicle.
The woman’s current boyfriend was also present at the residence, and when the argument got more heated the ex-boyfriend told the pair he had a gun, and he allegedly threatened to kill them.
The man then got into the disputed vehicle, but the woman and her current boyfriend did not want him to get away with the vehicle, so they also got inside.
The man drove toward West Valley City, and police said he told the pair he was going to intentionally crash the vehicle. However, he eventually stopped the car in the area of 6695 West 3995 South and fled on foot.
Police were called to the area, and with the assistance of a K9 unit they tracked the suspect down and took him into custody. Despite his threats regarding a firearm, police did not find a weapon on the man when he was located.
