PROVIDENCE, Utah — A car went through the front of a store in Providence Wednesday after an elderly woman mistook the gas pedal for the brake, and several photos from the scene show the aftermath of the crash.
Lt. Mike Peterson of the Cache County Sheriff’s Office said a woman in her 70s was pulling into a parking place in front of a Dollar Tree, located at 4-Utah 165, when she accidentally put her foot on the gas pedal when she meant to hit the brake pedal.
FOX 13 News first heard reports of the crash around 5:11 p.m., and Peterson said there were no injuries in connection with the crash.
The vehicle went through some glass and wound up about 14 feet inside the store. Peterson said that because the incident occurred on private property, it is unlikely the driver will be cited.
