ST. GEORGE, Utah - Police are investigating after a mother said a suspect tried to get her 9-year-old daughter into his van in St. George.
Officers said the mother told them the girl was playing in the front yard of her home in the Tonaquint Terrace subdivision Tuesday afternoon when the suspect approached her.
Authorities said the suspect in a striped gold van gave the girl numerous reasons why she needed to get in his vehicle.
The girl told the suspect she knew he was lying and ran into her house.
Officers said the suspect is described as a Caucasian man with gray or white long hair and a beard.
