Truck hauling 120 head of cattle rolls on I-84 ramp; 40 cows killed

SUMMIT COUNTY, Utah –About 40 cows are dead after a semitrailer hauling about 120 head of cattle rolled on the ramp from eastbound I-84 to westbound I-80 in Summit County Saturday.

Lawrence Hopper, Utah Highway Patrol, said the crash occurred at about 3:19 p.m. when an eastbound semitrailer traveling too fast rolled while on the ramp from I-84 to I-80.

The entire ramp was blocked until about 7 p.m.

Hopper said the another trailer was brought to scene to load and haul away the surviving cattle. There were no reports of injuries to humans, and there were no other vehicles involved.
