PARK CITY, Utah — Park City police responded to a bear sighting reported early Sunday morning.
Employees from Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley Resort, 7700 Stein Way, say the bear was seen at 4 a.m. Responding officers had seen the bear numerous times, mostly by the resort dumpsters, according to tweet from Capt. Phil Kirk, Park City police spokesman.
Division of Wildlife Resources was notified and will be responding to the scene.
A bear was seen Thursday several times overnight in the Mellow Mountain neighborhood. That same bear made appearances in the Park Meadows neighborhood near Mountain Ridge Court and Jeremy Ranch.
It is unclear if the bear seen at the resort is the same as the animal seen in the neighborhoods. If it is the same bear, Kirk said, it has continued to move south.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
