SALT LAKE CITY — City Councilman Kyle LaMalfa has announced he will not seek re-election, so he can pursue a relationship with another member of the Salt Lake City Council.

In an announcement on his campaign website, LaMalfa said, “as of January 2016, my focus will be service to a happy home and my partner, Erin.”

LaMalfa included a photograph of himself and City Councilwoman Erin Mendenhall. The two were rumored to be in a relationship last year, which was first reported by Salt Lake City Weekly. LaMalfa represents Poplar Grove and Glendale. Mendenhall represents the Liberty Park area.
